The Bitter End (Episode 8)
Act I
Jenny waits for Lew to return to his office to discuss the Frogeyes murders. Carol reads the paper until Jenny asks where Lew is. She doesn’t know and doesn’t know when he’ll be back. After an uncomfortable silence, Carol offers her a drink, which she accepts. Drinking on the job now? Carol admits that Lew is missing. He’s been gone for weeks and his brain has been deteriorating for weeks now. Do you think that he’s wandered off and gotten lost or is he worm meat? Carol feels that he’s gone ,as only a lover would know.
Carl is bartending at the Nepo Kids club. Geneva says that everyone is dead or missing. Carl gives his 2 cents worth. He feels that there are going to be a lot of deaths and a lot of people will be wanting drinks at the cemetery. Geneva asks if he will work her dad’s funeral? Desiree asks what about for Orestes? What do you mean? Is he dead?!? Desiree just assumed that, since he’s “disappeared”. Desiree wonders why she is being interrogated and asks what Carl would serve as hors d’oeuvres at a funeral.
Brunhilde sits in the park lamenting the fact that the men in her life are dead. She cries on Magda’s shoulder that Geneva got married without her. She suspects that her daughter murdered Orestes, since Brunhilde’s blood runs in her veins. Magda can understand why she thought that Geneva was on orphan. Brunhilde is taken aback. Magda has some common ground with Brunhilde. They both have children that hate them. To be fair, Magda’s kid probably hates her because she gave them up for adoption. They look out over the herb garden. Do you have any poison in there, Magda?
Jenny is at the McGuffin mansion to ask some questions. She plays both good cop and bad cop. What are their dealings with the Frogeyeses? Hugo says that he doesn’t know any Frogeyeses. Jenny offers protection if he’s covering for someone. aAl the Frogeyeses died in the office that Magda shares with Lew. What’s in your shawarma?
Antigone bursts in on Geneva and Danvers, reeking of gin. She bathed on it this morning. Geneva asks who she is? Danvers says that she is Geneva’s mother-in-law. Brunhilde also bursts in. No one picks on her child. Brunhilde just met Danvers, but she feels like she has known them all their lives. Everyone can see that Danvers has a gun in her pocket. She had plans to kill someone today, but she’ll play by basketball rules. They toss up the gun and Antigone catches it.
Carol runs into Andy, who is jogging. He explains that he went off and got a breast enlargement. Just one. Carol laments that it was her favourite one. Andy sold her cab for Carol. I guess they’ll have to walk from now on, but together. Maybe forever, or maybe not. For Carol, it was more than just the cab that they sat in together. Carol confesses that sold her can for Andy, too. He didn’t even know she had a cab!
Hugo call his family together for a talk, but only Desiree is there. And Magda too, for some reason. He asks why She is there. Magda reminds him that he gave her a key. Hugo tells Desiree that they’re seeing each other. Desiree hates Magda now. Why? Desiree tells Magda to tell Hugo what happened to Lew. Magda thought that she was making some leeway with Desiree. Magda says that Auralee is a piece of work. Desiree jumps to her sister’s defence.
Carl and Jenny try to repair their relationship. Carl has been busy working in all the bars now and been singing and has now branched into the funeral business. Carl shows her the drink that he created for her. Jenny tells him that he had her before, but now that she has this drink, he is irresistible. He asks Jenny to marry him. She says yes. They will conquer the world together. They can leave this place. But she hasn’t solved this case! She will leave the case behind, like tin cans behind their wedding car. She’ll give it all up for her.
Antigone drinks in one of Carl’s many bars. When he offers to call her a cab, she pulls out the gun that she got from Danvers. He will make her a drink and give her a bottle to take with her. She asks if he knows that she has left a trail of bodies behind her. He does know. Carl calls Andy, and he enters immediately. Do you have some way to give her a ride? Andy takes her aside and asks her how did Antigone get there. She thought she was dead. Antigone waves around the gun and they all shriek.
Act II
In the McGuffin mansion. Danvers finds a dying Magda on the floor. They tell her that they are a very good psychic and can help her cross to the other side. They ask who they would most like to speak to. Stan Trowel.
Magda was going to fess up everything to let. That the baby that she gave up was Stan’s. Compared to Brunhilde, she could have been mother of the year. Stan asks the name of the baby. The child she gave up was Detective Jenny Ducane.
Danvers find the assembled McGuffins and Jenny Ducane. Auralee has joined them. They are glad to see the family all back together. The whole entire big family. Jenny thinks that family of three isn’t that big. A family of 4 could be even bigger. And 5 would be even more. Desiree thought that Danvers was celebrate, that they were shooting blanks. Auralee says that she has been shooting semen like the navy. Auralee has been doing some research. While Hugo was away running his empire, Danvers was there, taking care of their mother. Danvers was the one motor boating their mother first, not Hugo. Danvers was there being more of a father to her and Desiree. But Danvers kept them at arms length too. How is that better than Hugo? How many times were you going to let us step on theirs dresses. Jenny asks what this has to do with her. Danvers tells her that her mother was Magda.
Antigone sits with Brunhilda and Geneva. Brunhilde asks for her to give her the gun. Antigone feels close to the gun. She slept with it under her gin bottle. Brunhilde asks how much money she has. SOOO much. Brunhilde says that since they have a piece of paper saying that everything goes to Geneva. Over her dead body. Antigone has come to avenge the death of her son. With her poor vision, Antigone waves the gun erratically She tells them about her relationship with Orestes, starting from birth. He went away. With YOU, Geneva. But she blames Brunhilde. A shot rings out, and Antigone stumbles to the ground.
Carl comforts a grieving Carol in the bar. He has consoled her a lot, but he’s together with Jenny again. But the grieving they shared, that was the best, and it lead to the most intense lovemaking. He belongs with Carol. Andy finds them in the bar and confronts Carol. She thought he was gone. But they literally just sang a song together!
Carol says that she’s right. It has to stop between them. He is going to run off with Jenny to a beach and she can solve beach crimes. He takes Andy aside and comments on his boob. Jenny bursts in and finds them. Did she see what she thought she saw? Yes, it was very inappropriate.
Auralee and Desiree talk together. Auralee has always been the good girl. But now that she has felt blood on her hands, she is exhilarated. Desiree likes this dark side, but we have to take car of this one murder first before we do any more. Alibi? Fingerprints? Desiree is wearing gloves. She can put the gun in her cleavage. We just need a seduction. Someone who will reach in there. Maybe a certain bartender…
Jenny has put all the pieces together. Andy is responsible for the Frogeyes murders. And Lew’s too. And maybe more. Andy had told her about the dead body in a duffle bag in her trunk. But they’re actually alive. Jenny asks who it was. Antigone Briarwood. Jenny says that Antigone has been found dead. It doesn’t look good for her. What did you have against the Frogeyes family. Even the baby! Andy says everybody loves dead baby jokes. Did Andy get kill Lew to get closer to Carol. Carol was Lew’s mother. And Andy says that they were her brother!
Brunhilde and Hugo share a drink in a bar. He seems down. He looks like he lost two daughters. She is good at reading people. He lost two daughters to someone working for him and sleeping with his wife. She went away and he never heard from her again, but the daughters stayed with him. Brunhilde says that you have to be there for them like she was. His daughters looked up to him for a long time. He tells her that Danvers is their father. Well, maybe you deserved what you got then. Desiree finds Brunhilde comforting Hugo. Desiree confronts Hugo. He pretended to be her father. Hugo says the he WAS her father! Tell me how you were ever a father to Me! She pulls out the gun and shoots Hugo.
Geneva sees that Danvers is troubled. What is wrong? She had planned to reveal that they were the girl’s father, and kill Hugo. She takes off their bow tie and lets down their hair. Danvers is done! They blame everything on Geneva. They fight, hand to hand. While Geneva lies in pain. Danvers grabs a candlestick. It is time for you to die! Danvers raises the candlestick over their head.
Carl gathers up his bar supplies to prepare to run off with Jenny. She has some concerns. The murders are all Andy’e fault, and Jenny saw carl admiring Andy’s single boob. A Frogeyes comes into the bar. He pulls out a gun.
He hated having a large family. No one gets out go Los Santos alive. Carl jumps in front of Jenny to protect her and is mowed down. He aims at Jenny and pulls the trigger. She dies, and he laughs maniacally.
